Is it bad to put a acura engine in a 1999 honda civic?

I am looking at a 1999 Honda civic, and the man that owns it has put a Acura engine in it. Is that a bad thing?|||depends what it is

we need to know the original civic engine, the type of acura swap it is, and the transmission

ill check back...

k and to correct the person after me, it might not be ok because if the acura engine is more powerful than the civic can handle, the transmission will have frequent problems because of the drastic difference on how it performs. and im a girl. BITE ME|||its fine...its a very simple and common thing that alot of racers do...acura is still a honda company.....the b18 swaps are very common on civics just like the b16 is....

hey lilgirl....when you do an engine swap from an integra to a civic...youll junk the single cam engine and tranny from the civic...and use the integras engine and tranny...the civic's tranny would not fit onto the integras motor unless it was from the b16...which was from the civic si....and the b16 tranny would handle all the power with out any problems...|||it's only bad if the guy didn't know what he was doing

If everything checks out fine than it should be okay

Just to be safe you should have it check by a good mechanic who knows Honda swaps
